Nearly 300 Anchorage-area students, ranging from sixth grade to college-level, will participate in this nationwide celebration today to express thanks to the community for its support of Alaska’s federally funded TRiO programs.
Students—many of them first generation and/or from low-income households—will give testimonials of how UAA’s TRiO programs have helped them succeed in achieving their dreams of a postsecondary education.
Students will also receive sustainability training from UAA’s Office of Sustainability and will participate in a sustainability-related service learning project on Monday afternoon.
