CAMP DENALI, Alaska – Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Katkus, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, will host a Veteran’s Day ceremony at the Alaska National Guard armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Nov. 11.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the 2012 Governor’s Veterans Advocacy Award by Verdie Bowen, director of Veterans Affairs for the State of Alaska, and a keynote address by Chief Warrant Officer (ret) Jim Noe, an Army aviation veteran who served his country for 42 years.
Immediately following the Veteran’s Day ceremony, Canadian Forces will conduct a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
