Troopers responded to the residence to find that 24-year-old Gustav Walstrom had driven to his ex-wife’s residence, and while there, fired six shots into the air. After discharging his weapon, Walstrom drove away from the residence, and so was not there when troopers responded to the scene. It was determined that when he drove to his estranged wife’s home, he was intoxicated.

While Walstrom was driving back to his residence, he drove off the road and into a ditch before getting back on the road. During this incident, Walstrom was reported as a REDDI driver.

Troopers located Walstrom at his residence. While there, they also recovered the weapon used in the earlier incident.

Further investigation found that during his time on the road and at his ex-wife’s house, Walstrom had two juvenile children in the vehicle with him.

As a result of the investigation, troopers arrested Walstrom and charged him with DUI, Misconduct Involving a Weapon Iv x3, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child I x2.

Walstrom was transported to Palmer’s Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with his bail set at $4,500 cash/corporate and $500 cash performance bail.
