At 10:16 pm on Tuesday night, troopers received a report of a vehicle in the trees at Indigo Drive and Rainbow Park Drive in Wasilla. After responding to the scene, they found no one at the location.
Troopers investigated the incident and found that 54-year-old Wasilla resident Joseph Burns had driven the vehicle into the ditch, then left the scene and had gone to a friend’s house after the accident.
When contacted, Burns was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and found to be DUI and driving with his license revoked.
Further investigation of Burn’s history would find that he had several past DUIs and a Felony DUI on his record. Troopers would further find that Burns was presently on probation for a Felony DUI.
Burns was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with no bail.
