Alaska State Troopers re-contacted a Wasilla man after an initial contact made on July 31, after it was determined that he had been driving a stolen vehicle.
Troopers stopped 31-year-old Wasilla resident James McGee at the intersection of Hollywood Road and Vine Road in Wasilla on Saturday after an investigation found that when stopped on July 31st along the Parks Highway, he was driving a stolen vehicle.
McGee was driving a blue 1993 Ford F-150 on July 31st. It was later found that the Ford had been stolen during a burglary off of Big Lake Road. Troopers determined that “McGee was the last person in possession of the stolen pickup truck,” the trooper dispatch reported.
Troopers placed McGee under arrest on charges of Vehicle Theft I and Theft II. He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with his bail set at $2,500.
