During the early morning hours of Sunday, at 12:05 am, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on an ATV near Pittman Road.
When they stopped the 1994 Polaris ATV, their investigation revealed that the driver of the ATV was 28-year-old Wasilla resident Joshua Cooper. They found that Cooper was operating the ATV while under the influence of alcohol.
Further investigation found that Cooper was violating his conditions of release by doing so. Cooper also had several outstanding arrest warrants issued for failure to comply with his conditions of probation for alcohol importation and DUI.
Cooper has had several DUIs and was previously convicted of Felony DUI for having three DUI convictions within a ten year period.
Subsequently, Cooper was arrested on charges of Felony DUI and driving while license revoked.
Troopers transported Cooper to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded with his bail set at $10,450 plus a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
