When troopers arrived on the scene, they found a bull moose that measured no more than 32″ at the widest point with three points on either side. They report that they saw then that no attempt had been made to salvage the meat from the animal. By the time troopers arrived at the animal, the meat was no longer salvagable.
Further investigation and interviews conducted into the incident found that Beasley had shot the animal at about 9:15 pm on Saturday and made no attempt to salvage the meat.
Beasley was issued a summons to appear in Palmer court on October 18th to answer to charges of Taking an Illegal Size Moose and Wanton Waste of a Big Game Animal.
Beasley’s rifle was confiscated as evidence in the case.
