Wasilla Teen Arrested for Criminal Trespass, Fighting with Troopers on Museum Drive

trooperarrestOn the evening of the Fourth of July, Alaska State troopers responded to a Museum Drive residence after they received a report that a trespassing man was being held at gunpoint there. It was reported that the man had unlawfully entered the dwelling there.

When troopers arrived, they attempted to detain the man, who they identified as 18-year-old Dakota Smith of Wasilla. When they attempted to do so, Smith challenged the troopers to a fight and engaged in a physical struggle with the officers.

Smith was ultimately detained and arrested by troopers for the offenses of Criminal Trespass I and Disorderly Conduct. Troopers also noted that Smith also appeared to be under the influence of a mind-altering substance.

Smith was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with his bail set at $500.
