Troopers can thank the National Geographic TV series “Alaska State Troopers” for at least one arrest that took place without any effort on the part of Anchorage State Troopers. That, and the courtesy shown to offenders by troopers on the show.
On Friday evening at approximately 6;20 pm, troopers were approached by a man and woman in the troopers parking lot of the Alaska State Troopers Headquarters in Anchorage.
When troopers spoke with the man, the man, identified as 49-year-old Brian John Fahey of Anchorage, told troopers that he wanted to turn himself in for multiple felony warrants. He told troopers that he chose to turn himself in to them because, unlike other law enforcement, he felt that the troopers conducted themselves in a “more professional” manner, and were more “courteous to the people that they arrested.” He said that he came to that conclusion after watching the television reality series, “Alaska State Troopers.”
After speaking with Fahey, troopers checked his record and found that he was wanted on several warrants that included several felonies.
Fahey was wanted for Felony Failure to Appear for Forgery II, MICS IV, Theft II, Third Party Custodial Requirements, Felony Escape II, Failure to Appear on charges of DWLR and petition to revoke probation, and Failure to Appear at a Remand HEaring for DWLR/PTRP x2.
Troopers arrested Fahey and transported him to the Anchorage Jail where he was remanded.
Fahey is being held on $20,000 bail.
“Alaska State Troopers” airs on the National Geographic Channel.
