A vehicle in a single-vehicle accident was deemed a total loss and the driver was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries after her vehicle rolled several times on the Parks Highway early on Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers from the Talkeetna Post and the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a roll-over accident at 1:41 pm on Tuesday to find the driver injured in the incident.

Samantha Herndon of Willow was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

The trooper investigation at the scene found that Herdon was traveling north at mile 75 of the Parks Highway, when her vehicle crossed the centerline, went into a broadside skid and left the roadway, rolling several times as it did so.

The driver and the passengers report that they were wearing seat belts at the tim eof the incident.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
