AST Seeks Aid in Locating North Star Detention Escapee

Alaska State Troopers are now seeking the whereabouts of another escapee from the North Star Detention Center on Thursday.

Troopers released a statement today asking for help locating Vincent Blue-Matheny, who fled from the center at 10:33 am today while paperwork for his transfer from Fairbanks Correctional to the Center was being processed.

Troopers describe Blue-Matheny as 5-foot-six, weighing approximately 165 pounds with a birthmark on his left cheek. He was wearing a black and gray hockey jersey over a hoody and gray sweatpants and black shoes without laces. Troopers say he fled in an unknown direction.

Blue-Matheny was in custody for violating conditions of his release on original charges of Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Police Offficer, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor Child, Driving with a Revoked License, and Assault IV-Domestic Violence.
