None Seriously Injured in Friday Four Vehicle Seward Highway Crash

image08-04-2015 09.03.54Late Friday morning, troopers responded to a reported four vehicle crash at mile 78.5 of the Seward Highway just south of Portage Glacier Road.

When troopers arrived at that location at 11:01 am on Friday, they initiated an investigation into the multiple vehicle crash.

Their investigation found that the sequence of events leading up to the crash began when 44-year-old Bradley Stevens had to abruptly brake his silver GMC pickup truck to avoid crashing into a vehicle making a left hand turn off of the highway. Behind of B. Stevens was a yellow 2005 Mustang driven by 19-year-old Aaron Stevens. A. Stevens managed to brake in time to avoid hitting the truck in front of him.

But, immediately behind A. Stevens was a 2013 Chevy Tahoe, driven by 31-year-old Cherrylove Helms. She was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the Mustang in front of her. The impact pushed the Mustang forward into the GMC truck.

Behind the Tahoe was a silver 2010 Lincoln MKX driven by 45-year-old Maxine Ayagarak-Joseph. Ayagarak-Joseph was also unable to stop in time and crashed into the Tahoe ahead of her.

Troopers report that all involved were wearing seat belts and suffered only minor or no injuries.

Subsequent to the crashes, the Mustang, Tahoe and Lincoln were all towed from the scene.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
