The investigation is continuing in the shooting death of a 5-year-old child in the village of Kokhanok that occurred on Saturday.
According to the trooper dispatch, young Cadin Mann was in the living room of his home playing video games, when another child in the house, an unidentified 11-year-old “obtained a firearm and subsequently shot Mann.”
The troopers were contacted at 6:20 pm and it was reported that the shooting was “accidental.” The wounded child was transported to Anchorage where, on Sunday he was pronounced dead.
The AST Alaska Bureau of Investigation from South-Central Alaska is assisting in the investigation.
Mann’s next of kin was at the scene when the shooting occurred.
The State Medical Examiner’s office has requested an autopsy of Mann’s remains.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
