Early Sunday morning, at 1:18 am, troopers pulled over a 1996 Chevy pickup for erratic driving and multiple equipment violations.
The troopers subsequently contacted the driver at the traffic stop. The driver informed the troopers that he was fifteen-years-old and did not possess a driver’s license.

The troopers also spoke to the passenger in the vehicle, 24-year-old Anchorage resident Peter Hamilton. Hamilton told the officers that the young boy was driving because Hamilton was too drunk to drive.
Further investigation by the responding troopers found that the 15-year-ols also had marijuana and a glass pipe in his possession.
The boy informed troopers that the marijuana wasn’t his, but instead belonged to Hamilton. He told troopers that Hamilton gave it to him at the time that the traffic stop was initiated. The boy said Hamilton told him that because he was a minor, he would not get in as much trouble. When asked, Hamilton admitted that the marijuana was his and confirmed that he had given it to the boy.
Hamilton was arrested on charges of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI, and Permitting an Unauthorized Person to Drive. Hamilton was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facillity and remanded there on $1,000 bail.
