Ketchikan Woman arrested in Saxman for Theft of $10,000

On Saturday, at `12:25 pm, troopers were notified that a property in Saxman had fallen victim to theft and $10,040 was stolen.

AST responded and opened an investigation that quickly identified a suspect. Troopers found that 39-year-old Robert Strong had fled the area on foot following the theft. Troopers searched the area but were unable to locate Strong.

Then at 5:40 pm that afternoon, troopers would see Strong coming out of a business on the 2100-block of Sea Level Drive. 

Armed with a warrant, troopers would search Strong and find that he had $8,709 in his possession.

During the investigation would also ascertain that Strong had conditions of release on a previous Theft IV charge out of Ketchikan and was in violation of those conditions.

The suspect was transported to Ketchikan and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center on charges of Theft II, and VCOR. He was held with no bail set to await arraignment.
