Troopers say that the investigation of the shooting death of a Wasilla man, and the critical wounding of another on Saturday, is continuing after an early morning 911 call made from a cell phone was received reporting that a person had been killed.
Troopers would utilize information gleaned from the cell phone provider to locate the shooting scene in the Montana Creek area several hours later. When troopers responded to the scene, they would discover two shooting victims. One, later identified on Sunday as 33-year-old Andre Lafrance, was declared deceased at the scene. The other, who troopers have yet to identify, was flown to an Anchorage hospital in critical condition. Efforts to notify his next of kin are underway, trooper dispatch reports.
Investigators with the Alaska Bureau of Investigations are conducting the investigation into the incident.
