Troopers report that they have opened an investigation into the death of a 30-year-old female in the southwest Alaska community of Marshall that occurred on Sunday.
Troopers were notified of the death of Marshall resident Crystal Hunter at 2:01 pm on Sunday. St. Marys-based troopers traveled to the community and initated a preliminary investigation into her death and that investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor in Hunters death. No further information has been released by authorities.
Hunter’s next of kin were notified of her passing. Her remains have been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
