As troopers were investigating a vehicle that left the roadway near the Parks Highway and Cherl Lakesm they contacted 31-year-old Wasilla resident, Robert Crawley, who proceeded to give the troopers a false identity, then fled the scene on foot, leaving a four-year-old child behind at the location.

The trooper dispatch reported that additional troopers, along with K-9 “Blazer,” responded to the scene to search for the fleeing Crawley. With the assistance of “Blazer,” Crawley was soon located and placed under arrest.

A check of Crawley’s criminal history would find that “Crawley  had an outstanding No Bail Parole Warrant for his arrest on the charges of Vehicle Theft 1st and Vehicle Theft 2nd (x12)” troopers revealed. Troopers would find that the 2014 Toyota Tundra that Crawley had been driving had been stolen in the past 36 hours.

When troopers went to the residence that the Toyota was registered to, they found that the home had been burglarized. Evidence found at the scene would connect Crawley to the burglary.

Crawley was transported to Palmer where he was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility “on charges of Vehicle Theft 1st, Burglary 2nd, False Information, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st. He was held without bail on his warrant, and an additional $15,000 cash only plus CATP on the new charges,” the trooper dispatch reported.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
