Troopers report that an Anchorage man who was the subject of a Silver Alert issued on Sunday has been “located and is safe,” after he was spotted by a trooper in Haines.

Palmer troopers had received a report of a missing man, identified as 76-year-old Henry Hodge of Anchorage at 11:51 pm on Sunday night.  He had been last seen at 3:45 pm on Sunday. He was reported as a vulnerable adult and a Silver Alert was issued, as the troopers asked the public to be on the look-out for him and his white 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 four-door truck.

By Monday, troopers had received information revealing that his credit card had been used in Fairbanks and again in Tok. Customs at the border between Canada and Alaska were notified to be on the lookout for Hodge.

In the two days that Hodge had been missing, he had traveled approximately 1,000 miles to southeast Alaska, having crossed the Canadian border twice.

When he trooper in Haines recognized the vehicle from the Silver Alert, he pulled Hodge over in a traffic stop and verified his identity.
