A Wisconsin man was arrested during the early morning hours of Saturday in Franzen, Marathon County, Wisconsin for Drunk driving after he was found passed out behind the wheel with a six-pack of beer beside him on the front-passenger seat.
The reporting party was no longer at the scene when the officer arrived.
The Sheriff’s Department officer made contact with Bryan Wendler at his vehicle, a Chevy Cavalier, at 1:06 am, while it was stopped in the middle of the road with its engine still running. It was reported that the music was blaring in the vehicle as Wendler sat passed out.
The officer woke up the slumbering Wendler, who appeared “dazed and confused,” then administered standard field sobriety tests on him. Which he failed. Wendler was then asked to blow into a breathalyzer, which he did. He blew a .19, twice the legal limit in the state of Wisconsin.
Wendler was transported to Saint Claire’s Hospital where blood was drawn. Afterwards, Wendler was released to corrections officers.
If convicted, this will be Wendler’s sixth DUI. Wendler also faces a probation violation and a Driving While License Revoked charges for this most recent brush with the law.
Wendler was booked and photgraphed before being incarcerated, his booking photo can be seen at the top of this article.
Wendler is scheduled for his preliminary hearing on January 30th.
