Although details of the agreement haven't been made public, it has been announced that China and the United States have reached an agreement on new sanctions against the government of North Korea.

The agreement of sanctions against North Korea come as a punishment for that country’s latest unauthorized nuclear test. The United Nations Security Council condemned the February 12th test carried out by North Korea calling it a “grave violation” of existing sanctions. This latest, the third and most powerful carried out by the Asian country was this time “aimed” at it “archenemy,” the United States, according to North Korea.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, North Korea announced that it will scrap the 1953 armistice between it and South Korea if the United States and Seoul conduct their annual war games. This time, the Korean People’s Army Supreme Command said that they would conduct surgical strikes meant to unify the two countries if the exercises are carried out.

Although the North Korean government issues these threats each time military games are carried out by Seoul and the U.S., this time they are acting much more belligerent.

North Korea is already under stiff sanctions for previous tests that they have carried out, and those sanctions were further expanded after the North’s missile launch in December. That country has rejected the U.N. Sanctions and is expected to do so once again.

North Korea has also announced that they will continue with missile and nuclear tests in the face of the United State’s continued hostility, saying also that their latest test has proved that they can hit the mainland United States with their long-range missile.

The United States has 28,500 troops just across the border to North Korea and regularly carry out military drills with the South Koreans.
