A Mountain Village VPSO was severely injured during an arrest in that community on Tuesday.
The report relating the incident went in to the Alaska State Troopers at 6:54 am on Tuesday . The officer had been arresting 33-year-old Mountain Village resident Warren Thomas Barclay for a Domestic Violence Assault that morning when he was struck from behind, that blow took the officer to the ground.

Barclay was being arrested for assaulting his 29-year-old girlfriend.
As the officer and Barclay struggled on the ground, Barclay used his thumb to severely injure the VPSO’s eye.
Troopers responded and the VPSO was flown to Bethel for treatment and Barclay was arrested.
Barclay was charged with Assault II on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, DV Assault IV, and Interfering with a Report of a Domestic Assault.
The trooper dispatch also revealed that Barclay is on probation for Felony Assault.
Barclay was transported to Bethel and remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
Barclay had been drinking at the time.
Mountain Village, with its population of 755 people, is located on the Yukon River near the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
