Alaska State Troopers released the name of the Mountain Village man who was found dead in that village on Wednesday. Troopers identified the deceased man as 56-year-old Clifford Schanrock.

Troopers in St Marys were notified of the discovery at 6:15 am, but weather conditions hampered the efforts of investigators and crime scene technicians to travel to the village on Wednesday and they continued trying to get to the community on Thursday.

The investigation into the cause of death as well as the circumstances involved is continuing.
