Alaska State Troopers report that they have responded to numerous vehicles in distress on the Dalton ighayin the past week and advise motorists that hazardous conditions persist on the highway And will continue according to forecasting.

AST urges all drivers on the highway to have adequate emergency supplies appropriate for winter conditions while traveling on the highway for both them and any passengers they have aboard.

Troopers remind motorists that traveling the highway may be hazardous due to lack of cell signal on most of the highway and difficulty responding due to poor weather and road conditions. Distance from responders and limited public services is also a factor.
