Anchorage Inmate Charged for Hidden Drug Stash in Body Cavity

drug bustOn Monday morning, the Anchorage WAANT Unit was informed by the Anchorage Correctional Center that a female inmate at the facility was hiding heroin in a body cavity, the Alaska State Troopers revealed.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators transported 28-year-old Kelsey Duncan to a medical facility, where a CT scan was performed that revealed that Duncan  had “a large foreign object secreted within a body cavity which was removed by medical personnel,” troopers reported.

According to the trooper dispatch, the foreign object removed by medial personnel contained 15 grams of tar heroin, 13 Suboxone strips, 9 Alprazolam pills and a Clonazepam pill.

Following the removal of the drugs, Duncan was returned to incarceration at the Anchorage Correctional Complex.

On Tuesday, a no-bail arrest warrant was issued for DDuncan on charges of Promoting Contraband I x4,three counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V, a count each of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II and IV.

The no-bail arrest warrant was served to Duncan while she remained in custody at the complex.
