Alaska State Troopers served an arrest warrant on an inmate at the Anchorage Correction Center on Wednesday afternoon for Assault stemming from an incident late last month when the inmate punched a correctional officer.
It was on November 27th, that 24-year-old Anchorage resident Jordan Lindsey, became disruptive with medical staff at the Anchorage Correctional Center, prompting correctional officers to respond to the situation. For a moment, it seemed that the situation was brought under control and Lindsey settled down and complied with verbal commands. But, Lindsey would spin around quickly on the officers and punched one in the face causing injuries to the officer’s nose and mouth.
The officer was treated and released from the hospital.
The incident resulted in an investigation, and a look into Lindsey’s criminal past by troopers, would find that Lindsey had two prior convictions for assault where injuries occurred as a result of his actions in the past ten years.
Troopers requested and obtained an arrest warrant for Lindsey on charges of Assault III and served the warrant on Lindsey at the Anchorage Correctional Center just before 4 pm on Wednesday.
Lindsey, already an inmate at the facility, was “re-remanded” to the facility with his bail set at $7,500.
