Anchorage Police Arrest Suspect in Tuesday Morning 15th and E Shooting Death

As Anchorage police sought a shooting suspect in the area of 15th and E Street in Anchorage this morning, the Anchorage School District closed down the Central Middle School as well as the Chugach Optional and bussed the students to West High for pick-up by their parents.

Police were alerted to the shooting at 15th and E at 6:16 am. When they arrived on-scene, they found a “deceased male.” Police have yet to release the name of the victim.

Investigators identified a suspect early in the investigation and released the name of the suspect as Tommy Rumph. They released a description of Rumph as “a black male, 6’2″, 195 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.”

Police soon made contact with Rumph, in the “area of 29th Avenue and Willow, where he surrendered peacefully,,” the report announced this morning.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
