On Wednesday of this week, it was reported that on Wednesday morning around 4 am, the AC store in Aniak had been broken into and robbed of over $30,000 in cash and checks.
Troopers responded to the scene at the store in Aniak, the small southwest Alaska community of approximately 500, to initiate an investigation into the burglary and theft. Their investigation led troopers to two suspects, 29-year-old Philip Simeon and 20-year-old Juliana Peterson, both of Aniak.
Further investigation of Simeon’s residence would turn up most, if not all, of the $30,000 worth of cash and checks, the trooper dispatch revealed.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]Simeon and Peterson were arrested and arraigned in Aniak on Thursday. Simeon was charged with Burglary II,Theft I,Tampering with physical Evidence-Destruction,Possession of Burglary Tools, and Criminal Mischief III. Peterson was charged with Burglary II, Theft I, Tampering with Physical Evidence-Destruction, and Criminal Mischief III.
Simeon is being held on $50,000 bail and a Court-Approved Third Party Custodian. Peterson’s bail was set at $10,000, she also has the same CATP stipulation as well.
