After an investigation that started after the report of the death of 56-year-old Clifford Schanrock in Mountain Village on Wednesday morning, troopers report that they have made an arrest in the case.
At 2:53 pm on Friday, Alaska State Troopers responded to a call of a Burglary in progress at a North Pole residence. The owner had come home, opened his door and heard noises inside, and so, called troopers and waited outside for them.
Alaska Fish and Wildlife officers in Coldfoot were contacted early Friday morning at 6:55 by the Chandalar Department of Transportation Camp that one of their employees had taken a serious fall and was suffering from significant injuries at the camp.
During the early morning hours of Friday, 28-year-old Bruce, and 33-year-old Grant Ilutsik, heard their boats banging around in the storm moving through the area and so went to investigate.
