Alaska House OKs Bill Tying Driver's License to Visa Expiration Date

Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska House of Representative Monday passed a bill tying a non-citizen’s driver’s license to their visa or other legal presence document, fixing a discrepancy in state law that allowed some to receive licenses – official ID – past their legally authorized length of stay.

Monday, April 1, 2013, Juneau, Alaska – The Alaska House of Representatives today unanimously passed a resolution urging the U.S. Congress and the President to complete funding and the deployment of the U.S. Coast Guard’s new “Legend-class” National Security Cutters, and base one of them in Kodiak.
