Police arrested Barr on September 14th, a day after the girl’s mother called Anchorage police to report the assault from the night before.
According to the police report last year, Barr had been in Anchorage visiting family from Seward when the assault incident with the young girl occurred. Barr told police that he had been drinking heavily that night at a local park and did not recall how he had arrived at the home of the victim. At some point after arriving at the residence, he entered the girl’s room which she shared with her siblings.
Upon his release from prison, Barr will be required to register as a sex offender for a period of 15 years.
