Israel Keyes Charged with Kidnapping Resulting in Death in Samantha Koenig Case

It was announced today by United States Attorney Karen Loeffler, that a Federal Grand Jury had returned an indictment against the man apprehended in Texas on March 13th, Israel Keyes. He is being charged Kidnapping resulting in the death of 18-year-old Samantha Koenig as well as Receiving and Possessing Ransom Money and Access Device Fraud.

Crew of Coast Guard Cutter Healy Receive a Commendation Award for Extremely Meritorious Service in Alaska

Yesterday, crewmembers of the United States Coast Guard Cutter "Healy" were presented the Coast Guard Unit Commendation for extremely meritorious service in support of Coast Guard operations during their seven-month 2011 science mission that ended with an escort for the tanker "Renda" to Nome.
