ANCHORAGE — The Governor's Annual Awards for Emergency Medical Services were announced at the state Emergency Medical Services Symposium today. As the son of an infantryman who spent 27 years serving America in the U.S. Army, maybe I feel a special emotion on Veteran’s Day. This holiday, there is a touch of sadness, a sense of historical passing.
Today is Veterans Day, the day we honor the military service and sacrifice of all the veterans who have served this nation. Because of the incredible courage of the 9/11 generation, the tide of war is receding and America is more secure than a decade ago.
