On Saturday evening Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup for speeding near the intersection of Beaver Lake Road and Rochella Place in Big Lake.
When troopers attempted to stop the speeding truck at 5:41 pm, the driver of the vehicle ignored the troopers attempts and continued to travel down the road. After 1.5 miles, the vehicle finally came to a stop on Lodge Road.
When contacting the driver, the trooper investigation would identify the driver as 54-year-old Big Lake resident Buddie Holmren. Further investigation would find that Holmgren was driving with a revoked license because of a previous Felony DUI conviction and on probation for Felony DUI x2, as well as Assault III.
Holmgren, who has at least four DUIs since 2002, was arrested and transported to the MatSu Pretrial Facility where he was remanded with bail to be set at arraignment.
