Body of Anchorage Man found on Trail near Glennallen

Alaska State Troopers say they are continuing to investigate the death of an Anchorage man that was found deceased near Glennallen on Tuesday morning.

At 9:43 am on Tuesday, Glennallen-based troopers received a report of a deceased man on the Lake Louise Cameron Trail near Glennallen. Troopers responded to the scene and positively identified the man as 28-year-old Matthew Thorne.

The trooper investigation revealed that Thorne, while under the influence of a controlled substance, walked away from a cabin the night before near where he was ultimately located. The night-time temperatures were reported to be in the single digits at the time that he reportedly disappeared into the night.

Thorne’s remains were transported to the State Medical Examiners office in Anchorage and his next of kin were notified of his death.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
