The body of one of the two missing Koyuk boaters has been discovered along the shores south of Unalakleet.
On Friday, a Helicopter pilot for Bering Air reported to the state troopers in Unalakleet that a body was seen washed ashore about 30 miles south of Unalakleet and 26 miles east of Saint Michaels.

Alaska State troopers traveled to the location via Bering Air and successfully recovered the body of 48-year-old Debra Kimoktoak who has been missing since Monday, September 24th.
Kimoktoak went missing while boating from Koyuk to Unalakleet with 41-year-old David Slwooko and their two dogs.
An in-flight search for the two boaters by the Alaska State Troopers and a VPSO located an overturned 18-foot boat along the shores on Thursday. The skiff still had the outboard attached to the skiff by its tether. No signs of the boaters was evident at that time.
Kimoktoak’s remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy and her family has been notified of her discovery.
Troopers and local searchers continued to look for David Slwooko without successs through the weekend. Troopers say that their search is now suspended pending any new leads in the boater’s disappearance.
