Four fishermen and a dog were rescued by a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter after they abandoned ship in the Gulf of Alaska Wednesday night.

Kimberly McCarthy Becomes 500th Person to be Executed in Texas since 1982

Kimberly McCarthy drew her last breaths Wednesday evening in Huntsville, Texas and was pronounced dead at 6:37 pm. She died 20 minutes after she was administered a single lethal dose of pentobarbitol. She became the 500th person executed in Texas since the re-start of the state's death penalty in 1982.

Divers Retrieve Drowning Victim from Gravel Pit Lake in Fairbanks Sunday

It was reported by trooper dispatch today that a Fairbanks resident had drowned while wading in the small lake at the gravel pit on Sunday afternoon.

Troopers Make Drug Arrest While Investigating Burglary at Big Lake Motel

Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a burglary at the Big Lake Motel early Tuesday morning at 6:55 am. While there, troopers contacted 25-year-old Anchorage resident Karen R. Douglas.
