While operating a four-wheeler in the community of Old Harbor, 31-year-old Dwayne Keeling was stopped and contacted by the village's VPSO. He had stopped Keeling in regards to a $5,000 bench warrant that had been issued for Keeling.
While sheep-hunting up the Gerstle River about 25 miles southeast of Delta Junction, 56-year-old Michael Vogel, along with 62-year-old Melvin Iler suffered an accident when their raft overturned. When that happened, Vogel got entangled and was drug behind the raft for quite a distance through the swift-running current.
Jesse Jackson Jr, Illinois Congressman and son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson Sr, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years probation for his crime of misappropriating campaign funds. His wife, Sandi Jackson, a former Chicago Alderman, was sentenced to 12 months as well for falsifying their tax returns.
Both the pilot and the co-pilot were killed in the United Parcel Service Flight 1354 crash in Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday during its approach to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth airport there. The two were the only crew aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident.
