In an Ohio courtroom on Friday, Ariel Castro, the man responsible for one of the most notorious kidnapping cases in recent history, skirted the death penalty in a plea agreement that will keep him from having to stand trial for his offenses.
Local fishermen in Olga Bay, 125 miles south of Kodiak, called in a drowning death to the United States Coast Guard via VHF radio. According to the fishermen, they were flagged down by a skiff reporting the death of 44-year-old Dana Lounsbury.
A report went in to the Alaska State Troopers at 8:45 pm on Wednesday night that an eight-year-old child had been hit and run over by a truck in Togiak. The driver fled the scene after the incident.
