Togiak's esteemed elder, Annie Cungauyer Blue passed away at home on Monday at the age of 97 years. With her passing the community and all of Alaska loses a valuable traditional Yupik leader and storyteller.

Alaska State Troopers are urging the residents of Noorvik to use caution and avoid the area where a Crisis Negotiator Team and SERT members are negotiating with a barricaded gunman in Noorvik.

Libyan National Snatched in that Country to Appear in New York Court on Tuesday

Abu Anas al Libi, the alleged Al Qaeda member who was captured in Tripoli, Libya just over a week ago by U.S. special operations forces, was transported to New York, according to the United States Attorney's office.

Three Men Charged with Herding, Shooting Moose from Airboat

A report went in to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers reporting that several men were chasing a moose through a swamp near the Knik River with an airboat while shooting at it with a bow and arrow on August 10th.
