LONDON, ENGLAND-Violence has continued to escalate and has now spread to four cities in England. Unrest has made itself known in Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham and Bristol, spreading there from London in the days since the shooting of Mark Duggan. 16,000 police officers have been called out to try and quell the violence.
A small ash cloud was observed from the Kanaga volcano on Saturday, and seismic activity was reported, prompting the raising of the alert level on that volcano.

Alaska State Troopers have released the identities of the two snow machiners travelling between Noatak and Kivalina. They are Jerome Onalik, age 22, and Lonnie Arnold, age 21. Both men are from the community of Noatak.

21-year-old Anchorage resident, Richard Smith, surrendered himself to police officers at Anchorage police headquarters, and was promptly arrested. He was wanted on charges of stabbing 56-year-old Thomas Atkinson Jr at Atkinson's residence Sunday morning.
