Police say they have no clue as yet why the Camp LeJeune marine, 23-year-old Lance Corporal Esteban J. Smith traveled 1,500 miles to Eden, Texas, or if that was in fact his final destination, to carry out mass shootings. But, the killings started out with his wife according to reports.
His wife 21-year-old Rubi Estefania was found dead from a fatal stabbing on Sunday afternoon about 2 pm. Police were alerted by NCIS after they discovered the body in the Sunset Inn, a North Carolina motel room near the marine base.

The occupants, at first thought that Smith was throwing rocks at them. One person in the vehicle was hit.
