Large Quake Strikes Western Aleutians Near Atka

A large 7.0 earthquake struck the Aleutian Islands at 8:25 am on Friday morning. The shaker caused residents of Atka and Adak to scramble as the quake grew larger and larger before subsiding.

Four Anchorage Indicted on Drug Conspiracy, Kidnapping, and Firearms Charges, Three in Custody

Four Anchorage men face charges of drug conspiracy, kidnapping, and using firearms during their crimes. A fifth person was also charged with a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 after she disclosed protected health information for malicious harm according to U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler.

Former CEO/Owner of Valley Dairy Indicted for Fraud

It was announced by U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler on Friday that 57-year-old Wasilla resident Karen Olsen has been indicted by a Grand Jury for defrauding the state of Alaska as well as making false statements to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
