At three minutes past midnight on Thursday morning, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers dispatch received a call from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Emergency Medical Services informing them that the EMS had received a report of a single vehicle accident on the Healy Spur Road.
EMS informed the troopers that the accident at Healy involved a fatality. Troopers from Nenana and the Bureau of Highway Patrol, along with an member of the Alaska Bureau of Investigations responded to the scene.
When they arrived at the scene, they discovered that 24-year-old Healy resident William F. Reevely had died as a result of the crash.
As ABI mapped the crash scene, troopers investigated the incident and found that Revely had been driving his 1985 Chevy Suburban on the Healy Spur Road when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled.
Revely had two passengers with him during the crash, both of whom suffered minor injuries. The two passengers refused medical attention.
The trooper investigation found that none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident and that alcohol played a factor in the crash.
Next of kin were notified and the Fairbanks Bureau of Highway Patrol took case responsibility.
