Late Saturday night, an Alaska State Trooper helicopter dispatched after the troopers received a report of a stranded and possibly injured snowmachiner near Larson Lake in the vicinity of Talkeetna.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Office of Law Enforcement is investigating the death of two golden eagles near Chickaloon, Alaska. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing the eagles.

March 26 – Alaska received a “D+” when it comes to government spending transparency, according to “Following the Money 2013: How the States Rank on Providing Online Access to Government Spending Data,” the fourth annual report of its kind by the U.S. PIRG Education Fund.
