New Wader Requirements For Anglers Comes With The New Year

With the beginning of the New Year comes a required change in foot-ware for freshwater anglers. Effective on January 1st, 2012, new regulations for freshwater anglers come into effect. As of that date, the use of felt-bottom waders are prohibited from use in freshwater streams throughout the state of Alaska.

Today Reps. Les Gara (D-Anch.) and Bill Thomas (R-Haines) announced they are filing bi-partisan legislation to put Alaska’s strong anti-texting law back on the books. Recently a number of judges have questioned whether the existing law covers texting while driving, and have called for the law not to be enforced.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska-Manslaughter charges have been added to the list of charges leveled against the 26 year-old man, Sean Warner, for his part in the death of 14 year-old Jena Dolstad.
