Southcentral Rattled by Small Quake Tuesday Evening

A small earthquake, but the largest for the state this month thus far shook the central Alaska region on Tuesday evening, rattling widows and shaking items on shelves at 6:13 pm.

Legislature Passes Bill Excluding Homer’s Port and Harbor from the Kachemak Bay Critical Habitat Area

JUNEAU-Last week, the Legislature unanimously passed Senate Bill 148, sponsored by Senator Peter Micciche (R-Soldotna), which clarifies state law to exclude the Port and Harbor of Homer from the Kachemak Bay Critical Habitat Area (KBCHA). The bill was the first to pass the Legislature in 2014.
