Clam Gulch Woman Arrested on Multiple Charges after REDDI Stop

DUI_Patrol_02During the early morning hours of Saturday, Soldotna-based troopers conducted a stop on a REDDI vehicle at the Coho Beach Access near Kasilof that resulted in multiple charges.

Troopers pulled over a black 2003 Dodge Ram pickup after a REDDI report on the vehicle at just after midnight on Saturday morning. When pulled over, the driver was identified as 41-year-old Kristi Schultz of Clam Gulch.

A check by troopers would find that Schultz was operating the vehicle while “impaired by alcohol” and driving with a revoked license. Further investigation would find that Schults was on Felony probation for a previous assault conviction.

During the stop, Shultz attempted to leave the scene and struck the trooper with her vehicle door as she did so. The trooper was able to turn the vehicle’s engine off to prevent Schultz from fleeing. He was not injured in the incident.

Schultz was arrested on charges of Felony DUI, Assault III on a Police Officer, Driving with License Revoked and Open Container. She was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where she was held without bail.
