Alaska State troopers report that they made arrests in a case that was initiated on Friday after multiple 911 calls came in reporting a man “screaming for help” in the area of South Starlight Lane in Wasilla.
When troopers went to the area in response to the calls, they would locate the victim that reported that two suspects forced their way into his home and threatened to kill him as they proceeded to steal multiple household items, medication, as well as his 1993 Ford Ranger pickup.
The Criminal Suppression Unit would initiate an investigation and positively identify the two suspects and recover the stolen vehicle, that was located nearby. Identified as suspects in the case were 33-year-old Valerie Fredericks and 32-year-old John Anthony Thomas, both of Palmer.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]
With the assistance of swing shift patrol and K9 “Helo,” the Criminal Suppression Unit would locate and place under arrest Thomas who was found on South Lucas Way in Palmer at 5:40 pm on Saturday.
Less than two hours later, the same unit would locate Fredericks at a residence on East Norman Avenue in Palmer and place her under arrest.
Both suspects were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on charges of “Robbery 1, Burglary 1, Assault 3, Theft 2 (x2), Vehicle Theft 1, and MICS 4,” the trooper dispatch reported.
Thomas had his bail set at $25,000 cash performance, and Fredericks bail was set at $10,000 cash. Both were also required to secure a Court-Approved Third Party Custodian as well.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]
