Troopers are reporting a plane crash with fatalities in the Iliamna area this morning, it has been reported that a DeHavilland DHC-3T Turbine Otter on floats has gone down with 10 people aboard shortly before 6:30 am this morning.

An Iliamna-based trooper has responded to the crash site at Eastwind Lake just north of the airport there.Rescue personnel are assisting in transporting the injured to the Iliamna Clinic, and an unknown number of fatalities have been reported. 

The Rescue Coordination Center has been notified of the crash and RCC has assets in route to the crash site.

The NTSB and FAA have been notified as the recovery efforts continue.

UPDATE 12:19 pm:

Troopers report that there were a total of three fatalities in this mornings crash, all of which were from out of state. Efforts are under way to notify their next of kin.

State Medical Examiners are currently under way to the area, as are investigators from the FAA and NTSB.
